It’s all about Baking
Many people think that baking bread is beyond them, or they have tried and produced a brick!
I run courses that dispel these myths. Come on one and get the skills and confidence to bake your own breads.
The courses are small, no more than four people so that everyone gets personal attention and assistance where needed.
They run in my house so that you are baking in the kind of oven that you would have at home. I have done courses where the breads were amazing, but you could never repeat them at home because the ovens were full deck, steam injected bakery ovens. I want you to learn the techniques and, more importantly, be able to bake at home.
Each course lasts 4-4 ½ hours, 10-2(ish) and you will bake Wholemeal, Soda and White yeast breads as well as making rolls. At the end of the day you take home your breads, some fresh yeast and the recipes and hints used during the session.
The courses tend to be on Saturdays or Sundays to fit most people’s timelines, the 4th Saturday and Sunday of the month are out as I will be baking for Llanyrafon Food and Craft Market. By keeping numbers low you have all the help you need and it’s a friendly atmosphere.
Of course there is copious tea or coffee throughout and we have a light Soup and Bread lunch as well.
The cost is £40 per student, though if all four places are booked by one group a discount to £30 is given. Why not get family or friends together and book all four places?
So far all those who have done the course have enjoyed it and I see them sourcing flour and yeast around town so they must have found it useful.
